Texas Rockers Jason Kane & The Jive Connect with A Hard Musical Punch To The Brain With The Heady 'Soggy Noggin'

Every once in a while there comes along a band who simply blows you away. Jason Kane & The Jive is such a band.

Formed in 2014 by Jason Kane and Nick Jive, in the hard rockin city of San Antonio, Texas they derive influences from such acts as Johnny Winter, Grand Funk Railroad, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Funkadelic, Cactus, Sly and the Family Stone, and Janis Joplin.

After two extremely solid self-financed releases in 2017's self-titled debut and 2018's 'Hellacious Boogie', The Jive are back with a brand new offering, 'Soggy Noggin'. An album that builds upon their strengths and shows a band on the cusp of greatness as they expand their horizons with impressive results.

The result is one of the finest releases one is likely to find in the hard rock genre, sure to please fans of such traditional rock & roll revivalists such as Rival Sons and Dirty Honey.

Jason Kane is a triple threat. Vocally reminiscent of a young Glenn Hughes, guitar-wise he reminds one of the late Tommy Bolin mixed with Eddie Hazel and Frank Marino while his songwriting impresses mightily.

Coming right out of the gate with the hard-rocking, funky "Machine Of Dreams", the band goes from strength to strength. More than ably assisted by bassist Nick Jive and drummer Jules Gabriel Flores. who combine to form a solid bedrock over which Kane can shine.

Hot spots include a wonderful cover of the Lucifer's Friend classic "Burning Ships", which would make John Lawton proud and ending in high style with the funky, soulful horn-laden"Bossman", which features drummer Steven Rodriguez. Assisted by L.A.'s uber-talented Top Shelf Brass Band, it finishes the record in top form, resulting in an album that is certain to be in my top 10 of 2020.

In a nutshell - If this were the 1970's this band would be headling arenas instead of slugging it out in local clubs, truly stadium level rock ready to burst out.  Jason Kane & The Jive are the band Greta Van Fleet dream of being. Highly recommended. 10/10

Critically Acclaimed Southwest Americana/Roots Band Bone Orchard Inks Deal With 13 Music LTD

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Daniel Pretends-Eagle and Carol Morgan-Eagle, founders and co-writers of critically acclaimed Southwest Americana band Bone Orchard have signed a deal to release their upcoming single, “ Joaquin Murietta” and album 'Saints of the Borderlands' via the 13 Music LTD record label.



Founders Daniel Pretends Eagle and Carol Morgan-Eagle have been co-writing, recording and producing their own music in Taos, New Mexico for 20 years, crafting a sound and songwriting style that expresses their eclectic interests and passions. Celtic harmonies, Gypsy melodies, Spanish rhythms, Spaghetti Westerns, surf, psychedelia and darkly romantic lyrics all converge into Daniel and Carol’s own mythology of the Old/New West.



The band draws inspiration from the music and stories of the Great American Southwest as well as the revisionist sensibilities of writers and filmmakers such as Sam Peckinpah, Cormac McCarthy, Roberto Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino. With their band Bone Orchard, Daniel Pretends Eagle on guitar and vocals, Carol Morgan-Eagle on vocals, along with Chipper Thompson on mandolin, guitar and Vihuela, Michael Chavez on drums, and Paul Reid on bass will take you on a journey through a Southwestern magical realism soundscape which needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.



After meeting in the thriving underground music scene of Los Angeles where Daniel Pretends Eagle, hailed by LA Weekly as “one of LA’s best-unsigned guitarists,” fronted the roots-punk band The Peckinpahs, he and Carol Morgan-Eagle relocated to Taos, NM in the early ‘90s. even though Daniel had always adamantly stated “you don’t form a band with your wife!”, singing and playing music around a campfire on the banks of the Rio Chama 19 years ago was where they finally realized it was time to mesh their talents. He has since acquiesced it was one of the best decisions he’s ever made.

They recently appeared in the 2018 Andrew Fleming (Bad Dreams, The Craft, The In-Laws) directed film, "Ideal Home" starring Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan. Their last album, 'A Romance Of Ghosts, was considered “One of the most exciting folk-rock CDs of recent times” by Eric van Domberg Scipio of Heaven Magazine in the Netherlands.



In November of 2019, Bone Orchard also was featured at the 1st 13 Music LTD Artist Showcase at Red Velvet Underground in Albuquerque alongside other 13 Music Ltd affiliated artists such as Chris & Company, and Sweet Nothin. Also appearing were up and coming hard rockers Jason Kane & The Jive.

The band’s continued determination to create and conquer is possessed by nothing but the music they play; a vintage sound with a modern twist.

A must see rock n’ roll band who do not disappoint.
